It's Oscar Night

A year ago, I was in Naples with friends, we had just come in from a day at the pool, and we had a Oscar watching party, drinking some wine and knitting.

It was a big change this year.  I'm not in Naples.  It is getting cold again and we have unbelievable winds all through the day and night.

But, the bright side, we had a quick visit from Baby Boy A and his family so Sweet Pea could meet her great-grandma.

Now, if you are interested in the Oscars, you might want to check the blog below to see how Shaun's predictions come up against the Oscar winners themselves.

Sunday Funday

I like that thought of having a fun day right before going back to work on Monday! And if I start thinking too much about W-O-R-K, I just think about this little cutie.

And, although, my Sunday, comes with a bit of work, a couple of loads of laundry, a bit of cleaning and organizing, it is time to sit down with a cuppa or two, do a bit of planning of my knitting life in my journals, work some more on my Ground Pepper and catch up on some knitting podcasts.

I was finally able to try it on this morning.  I finished one sleeve late last week and tried it on and thought that it was a bit short, but was reserving judgement until I was able to get the second sleeve going and really try it on.  As  suspected, it needs 2 1/2" more to hit where I want to.

I have done some mods on the sleeves as I do most times to accommodate my pelican arms, and I'll blog and podcast about them once the sweater is finished, which I am hoping is in the next couple of days.  At least that is my plan, I am so ready to move onto my next sweater.  And I've got a baby blanket to get knitting on as well that needs to be done by mid march!

We got more snow last night/early this morning, but thank goodness not much so I'm not complaining on that front.  Just give me more time to wear my knits.

Have a great week, and I'll catch you on the purl side!

Celebrating

Finally, we got to celebrate Christmas and baptism of Baby Sweet Pea this weekend.

And, when Mona Lisa came down for church on Sunday, she had her "shawl" and hat I knit her a couple of years ago and last year ago respectively.  And she wore them proudly!  It just warmed my heart.

They are growing so fast.

What a great weekend for celebrating.

And now back to some regularly scheduled knitting blog!

Finally Finished Friday

I've got a couple of things I can finally show you.  The first is my KnitMas that I knitted and gifted.  It was an ensemble out of Three Irish Girls Yarn.  A cowl, a headband and set of mitts.

The headband incorporated just a bit of the trellis pattern from the cowl.

The mitts incorporated a length of the trellis pattern.

And my second finished object this week is the 12 Days of Knitting Cowl from iRocknits.  The MKAL started the day after Christmas and a new clue was released for 12 days.  I did pretty good until I had to go back to work on the 2nd, but finally last weekend, I finished and blocked it.  The yarn is two gradient packs from Leading Men Fiber Arts.
