Fiberuary 23 -28

I cannot believe February is finally over! Bring on Spring!!

Day 23 - Outside

The snow was melting and it was finally warm enough and the roads clear that we can start taking a daily walk.

 Day 24  - Matching

When your polish matches the knits!

Day 25 - Throwback

One of my early posts from Instagram.  The sweater still hasn't been sewn together since 2013.  It may be time to cut bait on it, I'm pretty sure it is out of style by now.

Day 26 - Sip and Knit

Well, there is always some sort of sipping going on with the knitting here at Chez PJKnits.

Day 27 - Gifts I Have Received

I couldn't just go with one.  Four years of Knitmas gifts from my Tablemates at ZK, I just had to show them all as they are each prized.

And finally, day 28 - Gratitude

I am truly blessed to have so many wonderful knitting friends!  This gift was for my Retirement last year.  The squares came to my roomie, Debbie who sewed them all together and presented it to me on the podcast.

It's time to put Fiberuary to bed and look towards March now!  Bring it on!

Finally Finished Friday - Storm Mountain

We have certainly had a week or two of weather here in Central Illinois.  So it is so fitting that today's Finally Finished Friday post should be my Storm Mountain for the TopThis2021KAL that I am hosting all year long.

First up is my inspiration photo from about 6 years ago.

I knew that I had a couple of pieces of the ensemble, the shoes, jewelry, purse, turtleneck, along with the Downover  shawl from Cheryl Oberle that I knit many years back.  All I needed was the sweater to go with.

It took a bit of looking, but I finally settled on Heidi Kirrmaier's Storm Mountain or at least my version of it.

Then the yarn.  Do you know how difficult it is to locate just the right color of gray?  As it happened, I had a color card from Carol Sunday, that I could hold up to my shawl and found just the color and weight I needed in her Eden yarn. Can I just say how utterly soft this yarn is?!  And that I will be using it again.

It took me longer to knit the sweater than I anticipated as it is a lot of knitting, but I am totally happy with the result.  It goes with the shawl just as I wanted it to!

And I am happy with the end result of the ensemble.

Although, I am still looking for just the perfect red tote to go with it.  But, a minor point, I am sure Kate will come through with something soon.

Day 19 - What's in my project bag?

My Super Simple Summer Sweater (which is actually for Winter/Early Spring)

Day 20 - My Fiber Family

I am so blessed!  This is just a few of them!

Day 21 - Sunday Funday

Doing whatever I want to.

Day 22 Gifts I've Knit

I've knit quite a few, but special babies always get a purl motif blankie.

And when called upon, I do knit some motifs blocks.

Only a few more days to go.

Fiberuary Days 12 - 18

 Day 12 - What Am I Wearing?

Soundtrack by Marie Greene.  I love this sweater out of two colors of Valley Yarns Alpaca.  A winner for February weather in Central Illinois.  I knit it last July during her 4th of July KAL.

Day 13 - Number 13 in my Ravelry Queue

The V-Back Tee.  This is one that I'll be knitting later this year for Summer wearing, as part of the TopThis2021KAL, I am hosting.

And I've got yarn too, just need to wait a couple of months before casting it on.

Day 14 - Love

All my loves.

Day 15 - Mug Shot

Day 16 - Black and White

Fresh snow at night, before anything starts moving.

Day 17 -  What I Collect

Well, lets just say collect a lot of things, knitting figurines, knitting bags, and all things Snoopy.

Day 18 - Yarn

Yarn from my PYS (personal yarn shop)

Chuckle.

Friday Finds

Several weeks back, while on a Zoom, some friends reminded me of a yarn company that dyes incredible striped sock yarns, Artistic Yarns by Abi.

Several years ago, I purchased her yarn for some Watermelon socks and I knit them up.  I completely forgot about the dyer until our Zoom, so I decide to head over to her website, where I promptly ordered a couple.

I totally forgot about them until the mailman delivered earlier this week!

Monopoly and Christmas Cookie Stripe!    One of the cutest things???

The stitch markers attached to both of them, a little Monopoly house and a bottle of milk.  So dang cute.

Fiberuary - Days 9 - 11

Another round of Fiberuary posts for you, dear Readers

Day 9 Technique  -

Mine is instead of doing a slip knot on my long tail cast on, I do the scoop method.  No knot.  Courtesy of EZ.

Day 10 WIP -

One of my many WIPs is  my Something Gradient Comes This Way that I started in the Summer of 2018, after buying the yarn the year before at Stitches Midwest from the Magpie Fibers booth.  It's housed in my Sun Valley Fibers bag from January Thaw 2018.  The cutie on the bag is named Caramel.

Day 11 - Happy Color

Well, all the shades of Turquoise, of course.

 Stay safe and warm!!

Super Scrappy Sunday!

It's cold here in Central Illinois, and we had a bit of snow last night, but there is  plenty of scrappy blankets to keep me warm in my knitting today.

#1 The Mitered Square Blanket - one square every Sunday this year is the plan

#2 Attic 24's crochet scrappy blanket.  This one sits downstairs next to the washer to be crocheted when I do laundry, while I wait for the washer to fill or finish up. It really doesn't get a whole lot of work done on it, because I seem to be always finding something else to do while I wait.  A fellow instagramer had a good idea, she is trying for two rows a week, I think she may have something there!

And finally, I am trying for a section on my Habitation Throw every Sunday at the end of the day.  And sometimes it calls me during the week too, just because.

Hope you all are having a super Sunday!! 🧶
