My Knit Camp Contest Project
On top of my third and final laptop from Dell....Finally, I've got one that hasn't been shipped to Chicago or have a dent in the side.
I'm not so sure on my camp contest project. It sounded good when I first started it.....oh well, I'm going for it!

Love The Buttons
I think this must have been the most expensive buttons that I have ever bought. But, they just screamed "We are the only ones you are going to find that are big enough and look good enough for the Box Top Jacket.
Now, too bad, that I havn't lost enough off of the hips that I can actually wear this jacket. But, there is still time before late Fall gets here.
I am just finishing the 2nd week of the Couch to 5K running program! So, if I keep at it and stop going off and binge eating bad things, I should be able to fit the butt into it come Fall!

New and Improved
Finally, after three tries, I have a laptop dentless and working well. Now, when I go to camp in a couple of weeks, I can stay in touch. Maybe, that is not such a good thing?
I was in training in Chicago yesterday so I took today off. I stayed up really late working on a possible Show and Tell for camp and having lots of fun doing it.
Today is all about me. I am gonna sit around and knit some more on it, already have a sweater blocking and if it is not too hot and humid, I might just sit and knit outside for awhile in the sunshine.
But first, I am going to do the first day of the second week of the Couch to 5K program. And before the Tall Guy gets home, I might get a little shopping done! Yes, quite the ambitious day for being off.
I do have a list counting down the days til right before camp with things that I need (read as want) to complete before camp. Earlier this week when I had my review at work with the new boss (it went well), he wants me to do an Action Plan for my job. We discussed how if you have goals and dates of completion, it gives you something to work towards that is tangible. Duh, I've been doing that forever with my knitting and other tasks. Guess it's time to do that at work as well. I may need help with that one.

Happy Father's Day
Any man can be a father. It took someone special to be my dad.
After 26 years, I miss him more than ever. He would have had so much fun with his grandsons Baby Boy A and Baby Boy B. He would have been so proud of the men they are. Someday, they will make great Fathers themselves. They had their other Grandpa, though, who we will miss celebrating with for the first time today.
Changes - don't like them.

Pretty Darn Proud
I've been spending alot of time the last few nights working on my Green Sweater. I just started the last sleeve, and I am pretty sure I am going to need one more skein of yarn. I think I'll know more later tonight....but I may just order one anyway.
What I am most proud of is last nights knitting. I didn't knit much, but rather, sewed down the hem of the first sleeve....it was the first time I have done it successfully. The other couple of times that I have tried sewing down live stitches, have met with disaster and I have switched them to some other finishing! But, this time, I am pretty damn proud of the outcome!
So after I finished the sleeve, I went ahead and sewed down the rest of the raw stitches on the neck and the hem facings....not as good as the sleeve, but still, I am absolutely thrilled that the sweater didn't go flying across the room!
When finished last night, there was a bit of stress related pain across the back of the neck, but still, I felt really good with what I had accomplished!

I'm Havin A Great Day
I am staying home today. Usually, I go to the shop on Saturdays, but since it is so hot and muggy and most of the regulars are out of town or busy, I am content to stay home and have a weekend where I don't have to go anywhere. That has not happened since the holidays.
I am going to do some serious knitting today...there are so many ideas swimming around in my brain. One of them is my camp contest project...that I cannot share until after camp...the Radical Knitters know what I am talkin about.
The other is my green sweater. I think I might need some more yarn to finish, so I really need to knit to the end of the skein that I am using now on the first sleeve. Then, I am going to jump to the neck and see what that takes. Once the neck is finished I'll have an idea as to if I will need more and put a shout out on Monday for fast delivery from Schoolhouse Press for more or not.
Now, that I have a laptop at my disposal, I am getting so many ideas of things I want to do....maybe it wasn't a bad thing not having a laptop sittin right here.
Tomorrow's blog----a juror on Rod's trial is a knitter and got some press in our local paper...I am a little put out my one of the comments, but maybe because they semi have it right....I'll leave that for tomorrow's rant.
In the meantime, it appears that Ewe-nique Yarns is having a pre-Fall sale today while those gals are at market....I am not going over, I am not going over....I am....going to knit what I have! Do not encourage me.

Progress
I'm making some progress on my Green Sweater, but there is still a lot to go. I am wondering now if I'll have enough yarn. Only two skeins left and I have to finish this sleeve and the other and then do the neck.
I sure hope so as camp is coming fast. I am going to spend the weekend knitting....haven't really done that since the holidays. Ahhhh.

Really Nice Vogue
Got my Early Fall Vogue Knitting last week. There actually is some kind of nice garments in this issue that I am looking forward to maybe knitting.
But of course, all of that is on hold until I get back from Knit Camp. In this issue, Meg starts a series of articles on EPS. For those who have never knitted one of her or EZ's sweaters, this might be a good time to start based on this first article.
And of course, if you need help, we could maybe start one as a little KAL at the shop on Saturdays. Yes, we have not officially started summer yet, and I am talkin Sweaters, but it is never too soon to start!

Little Edo
Okay, I've had this Malabrigo yarn for two years. Little Edo is calling. So I swatched a bit this morning/evening on it, and then casted on.
Yes, I am certifiable...but I'm okay with that.
I'm adding this to my camp list of stuff to knit on before, during and after camp.
Here's the list:
1. The Green Sweater
2. My Show and Tell
3. Wool Peddlar Shawl - I have two in progress.
4. Little Edo
5. Box Top
oh, there are more, but it is just too embarrasing to put them in print for now.

The New Computer
Not mine, but my work one, which is really quite nice. Pretty fast and I like it. The first one came in via someone who opened it in Chicago and then proceeded to put it back in the box with the battery loose and no packing around it.
This one finally comes in and after two weeks.
With a flippin dent in the side of it?! I'm surprised that my CIS person didn't see it? It works, but it's got a dent in it!

I'm Being Tempted
I got my Vogue Knitting a couple of days ago. So far, I have just been able to leaf through the pages, but there are some great things in it that I want to knit for Fall. Despite that we are barely into Summer, now is the time to be knitting for Fall so when it gets here we are ready, not just starting to knit for it.
But that is another blog to come. A couple of things that are tempting me and have been tempting me for some time....
From Soak, their Phil basin. This looks like a handy thing to have and don't you just love the color.
This bag isn't new, but it sure has my eye. Linda has one and I liked hers. But, do I need another one and should it be my go to color Peacock? I'm like one breath away from ordering this one for work.....didn't I say that about the last one I bought at Stitches? And where is it at this moment? Coming to work with me...nope.
And slated for July. The hip holster....I definitely want this. It looks like it is better suited to me than the Vera Bradley hipster.
Oh, there is more that is going to tempt me from the latest Vogue....finally, a magazine with some potential for keeping it for awhile!
