2022 - The Year That

was.  It's a finish to a year that, well, was, you know...

Thankfully, there was knitting and I am grateful for it and my family, my knitting friends, you dear readers and those who watch the You Tube journal.  As I said on You Tube, I know we are all dealing with or have dealt with sad times and things that just come out of no where to bring us to our knees, and takes a chunk of your heart out.

But, we have to pick ourselves up, think of the fun and good times, and CHOOSE JOY!

Over the last months, I have heard from many different avenues, this particular thought.  Grief is Love.
If you have not loved, then there is nothing to grieve.  And if you have had or knew love, then grief comes too.

And knit through all crisis as EZ penned.

So, here is a close to one knitting journal.

Finally Finished Friday

I can finally reveal what took so much of my time in knitting from November 22 - December 22.

Another alpaca dk Half & Half Triangles Wrap that was a gift for Christmas.

Multiple colors as requested by my DIL

In cream, taupe, bark and brown

All DK, all alpaca as requested.  She wants to take it to work so she has something to throw on when charting.

So glad this one is finished, so it is back to other knitting... Happy Weekend!

Merry Christmas All!

Just some pics from last night and this morning, and then I am off to sit, knit and enJOY the sunshine!  I hope you are too!

A tradition I have every year on Christmas Eve.  Watch a Christmas Carol with Alistair Sims.  None other will do!  And, there is nothing new this year with the watching, I have always watched it alone, as the Tall Guy was usually in bed.

I had presents under my tree to open this morning from the group of ladies, (two of which I have never met, but let me be a part of their advent mini group this year).  Such wonderful surprises!
I've definitely got to up my game with them next year!!

Chelsea Yarns Advent does a day 25, so I had a final mini to open there too.  I still don't know what it will be, I'm saving it for the new year.

And since it is Sunday, I put the last Sunday square in my Cozy Memories Blanket as well!  Even though there are no more Sundays in December, I am going to put one final square in the blanket this week, to round it off and finish the row.  Then, I'll lay it all out and decide where to go next, lengthwise or widthwise.

For now, I'm off to do some knitting, have a cuppa, enjoy the blue skies and sunshine.

Hope you are all having a safe, healthy Christmas!  Thank you for stopping by here at Chez PJKnits!

Christmas Eve

Okay, lets just say, I had grand plans starting today and going through the 27th.  Lets just say, I don't think any of them are happening... I caught a bug, a respiratory/cold bug, not Covid, thankfully, but, in keeping with the year 2022, I'm just staying home, looking forward.

I'm gonna say it is hard, and I desperately trying to see the joy, but it's hard.

I, also, want to though, not bring you all down dear readers and friends, because, well, we all have our problems and we just have to keep looking forward.

Upside here at Chez PJKnits, it is not as cold as it was, the forecast ahead had high 40s and maybe even 50 next week, so lets just look toward that and a new year, shall we?

And Knit!

I caught up on my mitered squares yesterday and this morning.

All my advents are opened, with the exception of one more day of Chelsea Yarns advent for the 25th, along with some giftees under my tree from the ladies I swapped with.

I'll open them tomorrow, and do a regularly scheduled Sunday Scrappy Square for my blanket, and since there is one more space left in the width for 2022, I'll add a final square for the year, and then decide where to add on to it for 2023.

So, see, there are things to look forward to.

Please, all have a

On The Downhill Slide

Finished my Christmas knitting, but I have to wait to show, but my Cozy Memories Squares are the next knitting on tap, working on them to catch up.

Advent Calendar openings for today, the 23rd.

And finally, the weather report for Chez PJKnits...its very cold outside, 0 degrees and 25 mile hour winds, blowing the snow around outside.  It's just not fit to go out in and I'm not, at least for today!

All Is Well

I haven't posted in days for any updates because all my time has been used up with some baking, some celebrating and knitting on a Christmas gift.  The Christmas gift is still not done, so all I have been doing with my Cozy Memories blanket squares is opening them.  Once, the gift is done, I'll go back to the squares and finish up.

So, here we go for now.

We are due for a Winter storm later today, and then very windy time, and super cold, so for now, I am trying really hard~~~~

How's Your Weekend?

We celebrated this lovely friend's birthday.  It was a surprise, she totally did not know it was happening.

We stayed in a lake house on Lake Geneva in Wisconsin.  It was cold, but we had so much fun!  It was just nice to get a way with friends, even though, I had a bit of anxiousness and we left a bit early.  It is something I am dealing with or at least trying to.  I just don't wait well, anyone else have that problem, how do you deal with it?

I'm working on a stealth Christmas project this week and hope to finish it in the next couple of days, but I did catch up on two days of my Cozy Memories Blanket Advent today.

Today's Chelsea Yarn mini is Woolen Mittens, and the coffee flavor was Frosted Cinnamon Buns. You could smell the wonderful scent in the house from it.

And yes, if you are in the Midwest, you are going to need your Woolen Mittens later this week with a sweater and a serious coat and hat.

Blog at you tomorrow!!

Day 17

Today's Chelsea Yarns mini from the Advent is Fresh Snow.  I am so thankful, that its just a color way and not something we had to deal with.  Door County Creme is the cuppa for the day, and I didn't drink it yet, but this week, I will for sure!

Have a great weekend!

Day 15

Do you have your tree(s) up and decorated?

The Chelsea Yarn mini today is Long Johns, and we may be needing those today here at Chez PJKnits!

Here is a bit of catchup on the Cozy Memories Blanket Squares today.  I've been a bit busy lately with a Christmas present, but decided today, was a good day to get caught up.

We had some snow showers this afternoon, and the temps are going down so it was a good afternoon to have  a cuppa of Peanut Butter Crunch to help keep  warm, and a sweater, of course!

It's Starting To Get Wild Here

and it is putting me a bit behind on my Advent squares, but eventually I will catch up.  I've got some Christmas present knitting I am doing, and it is coming first.  But, here at least is what the Advents have been looking like in the mornings.

Chelsea Yarns was Cozy Scarf for the 13th and my coffee - Sinful Delight.

I started the square on my blanket this morning, but some cookie making side tracked me for the day.

It was a rainy December 14th again.  The weatherman said tonight, that if it had been snow, we would have had 15 inches since yesterday.  I'll take the rain.

The Chelsea Yarn today is Frostbite and the coffee - 100% Columbian.

Catch you tomorrow!
