The Last Square for January 2022

It's hard to believe, but January 2022 is almost over, and the final square for January is in the books too!

The Snoopy is the last of a bank that my Mom had.  She would decorate them with felt for each of her grandkids and for other special babies that were born.

I know she would have continued the decorating if she was still here.

Another cozy memory for the good times.  Have a cozy Sunday!

Catching You Up

 Yesterday's Scrappy Square.

Some progress on the Comfort Fade Cardi I'm working on.

And while I wait for the fourth color for my Cardi to come, I'm re-knitting the On Trend Top.  The first go round did not meet with my expectations for fit, so I recast on and adding some length to it.

I'll catch you all on the purl side, later.

It's Scrappy Sunday!

Today's square is so squishy.  I don't have a clue as to where I got it, but it would be lovely to knit more with.  That sometimes happens.

Where did this weekend go?  This so remains me of when I was working.  Weekends are way too short right now.  Hope you all had a great weekend!

Finally Finished Friday

The Dust of Snow Wrap (very long scarf for me), is finally finished!

I had so much fun with this knit through out Advent and into the new year!  Check out episode 69 or my instagram post a couple of days ago to see it up close and personal.

On the sock front, I finished one half of an old WIP and one half of a pair of socks.

Onto the second sock!

Delivery Call from Friends and Family

I have the best in both categories.  I could just leave it there, but wanted to share two special deliveries this week that just made my day.

A bag pre Valentines

With mugs that I am going to use well into this year.  I love Snoopy and big cuppas! And Knitting friends.

My son dropped these stitch markers off for my daughter-in-law, Harry Potter for the win.  She is always intuned to my craft.  And she is sweet too

Which I promptly put one of them onto my current project, the On Trend Top.

Hope you all are having a great week, Winter is still here, and the sweaters are getting a lot of use.  Aren't we glad we are knitters?!

Scrappy Sunday

Not much to show this week, now that its just one square a week, but, nonetheless, here's today's Scrappy Sunday Block.

And yesterday, I blocked Dust of Snow.  I'll show show you more of it later this week.

I guess it could be called scrappy too, since there are 24 different color ways in it!

There is a lot of junk out there lately, please everyone, keep healthy! 💙

WIPS for Every Possible Contingency

Do you have WIPS for every possible place and time you might need one?

I do.

My Chelsea Luxe Advent resides upstairs in what I am now calling my knitting room, since last Fall.  Its my escape knitting retreat these days.

Also residing up there, is a sock WIP that I told myself I must knit on for an hour a day, usually at the end of the day while watching or listening to audio.  The deal is I want to finish this pair of socks so I can cast on a new pair out of a stripey yarn that I am dying to cast on.

So far, into day 5, I've been keeping up.

I have a sweater that is reserved for when I can get to my local yarn shop to knit on Fridays (right now, I am not because I am a bit paranoid about not being around anyone who could possibly have come in contact with any illnesses). This sweater is Ground Pepper and out of yarn that I purchased at the shop, and I feel like I should knit on yarn purchased there whenever possible, while taking up space.

One of my plans for 2022 is to knit on gift yarn, so I cast on Chelsea's Cowl recently out of the Paca Peds yarn I got from Brenda for Christmas.  This is a pretty mindless knit and while on Zoom Knitting times, I am knitting on it.

My tote around WIP from several years back is the Something Gradient Comes This Way Wrap.  Its just now getting some love while I wait for the Tall Guy at appointments or at night after dinner, as the downstairs project, now that I've added the last of squares to the 2021 width of my Cozy Memories Blanket, (more about that later this week on Sunday Scrappy)

And finally, the car project.  This one always stays in the back seat, just in case I walk out without the above WIP.

What about you?  Do you have projects for various contingency plans?  And if that is a no, why not???

Brrrr!

It's cold and windy today, so I pulled a sweater out of the vault to wear today, since we have to be out for a couple of appointments today.

Suspender Sweater by Elizabeth Zimmermann.  I knit this one many years ago, so far back that I don't have a project page in Ravelry for it.

I do remember that I tried one on at Knit Camp, bought Berroco Alpaca for it at that camp and knit it specifically to the measurements of the one that I tried on since it fit me to a T.  My memory also reminds me that it was the first year that Schoolhouse Press started carrying a softer yarn than their rustic ones and Berroco.

Suspender Sweater can  be found in Schoolhouse Press' book, Knit One Knit All, Wool Gathering #21 if you have it, or from Spun Out #26 which is where I knit my original one.

Not a knit out of the vault, but one as part of my #ezandpj project I started last year, a hat from Knitting Around, also out of Berroco Alpaca. It's perfect for keeping the ears and head warm these days.

Pull out your knits and wear them is my mantra these days as we venture out during the week, where Winter is definitely made an appearance!

It's The First Scrappy Sunday of 2022

And another year of Sunday Scrappy Blanket squares begins, this time I am working on growing the length of the blanket.

I am also working on finishing the last row of the width from 2021.

I couldn't just leave one square hanging, now could I?!
