Are You Ready?

We are about to start a month of Advent Calendars.  I have three this year, and will be sharing them with you dear readers.

These from the lupineabout group will all go into my scrappy mitered square blanket, every day starting tomorrow.

Not sure what this will be, but I am super excited to open each one in here, as well.

And finally, this one is going to be a stocking.

But first, it was Scrappy Sunday, and here is the last pumpkin for 2021, my youngest grandson's footprints on it, what a treasure!

Let's bring on Advent next! 🙏🎄

Knitting a Rainbow

I'm taking a page from a designer that I follow on Instagram.

Basically, when her Mom was really sick, her Mom had words of wisdom for her, that goes something like this - when times are tough, and skies are gray, Knit a Rainbow.  Thank you Kimberly's Mom.

About all my mind has for right now in the knitting realm, is to knit stockinette or garter.

This weekend, I finished a poncho for our oldest granddaughter and cast on a new one for our youngest.

And amidst all the posts of holiday decorating, I took an hour this morning to wrap up in my Snoopy Thanksgiving blanket, and hauled out my Christmas mugs for a cuppa and just some me time.

I hope you all are having a great holiday weekend, take some time for yourself as well.

I'll catch you on the purl side.

And side note to Karen, I'll call you soon to catch you up...hugs!

So I Had A Birthday

With everything that is going on, I was all too ok to just let the 64th go by.

But, my friends, showered me with goodies, and about every night recently, I would open another one to celebrate making it another day.

And of course, I had to share with you all.

From Kendra.

From Debbie. (I really needed those warm jammies)

From Becky (there is a theme this year and the blanket is really coming in handy.

From Kathy, a nice little pamper me box.

And from Brenda, all the goodies.

I'm truly blessed.

Episode 67 - Winter Sweaters X 2

This episode is up now and you can find it here

It was recorded a few weeks back, before I knew what a full time caregiver meant.

I'm not super sure, how often, I will be able to podcast in the coming weeks, as we are dealing with quite a few appointments, but I will be sure to let you know when I do.

Thanks for tuning in!

Scrappy Sunday

My mother-in-law painted this and gifted to us many years ago.  Every Fall it makes its way out to decor for Fall and Thanksgiving.

I'm so pleased that there was sunshine today, it does make a day better, doesn't it?!

Mail Call

At least there is some nice mail coming to Chez PJKnits this week.

My Shetland Wool Week came and it has several items, I wouldn't mind knitting on in the future.

Yesterday Was So Scrappy

That this is all I achieved in the knitting way.

And a few stitches on this poncho.

While watching about 5 minutes of a podcast.

I never thought I would ever feel this way, but my knitting is not helping right now.  I know it will be back, but just right now, my down time, is spent just looking out and taking short moments.

There are some pretty colors still out there to look at!

Finally Finished Friday

 I finished the Rent Shawl.

It was from this book that I purchased last year from my LYS, The Fiber Universe.  In case you missed it, I am a fan of all of the Outlander books and the shows.

I purchased the kit last year from The Knitting Place  and knit it as part of a theme birthday for a fellow lover of Outlander and knitting!

I am so please with it and hope she is as well.

A Scrappy Week

That's how this week is shaping, just scrappy, a little bit of everything all over the place.

First, yesterday's square for Scrappy Sunday.  And for me, pumpkin season really starts in November, so here comes some pumpkins.

Also, yesterday, I was wearing a knit, while knitting a knit.  This week, it's a poncho for our oldest granddaughter.  There is no timeline on it to be finished, possibly after the first of the year.  But, it's a great pick up/throw down project while sitting in the hospital.

And I won a prize so from the Knitting Posse KAL, and it came today.  Monday Mail Call!  And the yarn comes from a sheep that is local to an instagram friend.  I mean, how cool is that!  This is definitely going to be a hat for me!!

And if all goes well, the Tall Guy may be released tomorrow from the hospital, which is good, but turns the stress up a bit for this care giver.  Ah well.  I'll catch you up on the purl side.

Mail Call Monday

The start of the Advent Calendars rolled in today.  This one is a scrappy one that a group of from ZK drew names for.

In the past, we did something called Knitmas.  Which was to knit something for a partner after the holidays and have it to them before February.  This year we decided to twist it up a bit and do Advent calendars with our scraps.

I cannot wait to add this to my scrappy blanket.  I think it might be fun to do a square a day again this year, after I open each one.

Stay tuned.
