Friday Finds!

Oh my gosh, the mailman has been very busy here at Chez PJKnits.

From Espace Tricot, my Shibui yarns for a couple of Spring, well possibly Summer Sweaters.

From Leading Men Fiber Arts, not sure what I am going to do with these yet.  The orange and blue are Bears colors.  No, I am not a Bears fan, but I have a fan who is who might get those eventually.  The yellows are to go with another Leading Men yarn that I have.  I wasn't sure which one would go best, so I bought them both.  And the naked one also is possibly going into the same shawl.  Time will tell.

And from one of my favorite dyers, Chris at Briar Rose Fiberarts.

I could not resist her 4th of July base in this color way.  It is going to be a cardigan, I just need to look at my patterns and see which one.  Don't be deceived by the line going through the strand, when knit up you really cannot see it.

Her Sea Pearl is a fave.  This makes color way #4 for me.  Her yardages are huge, and this one is going to be a shawl.  Stay tuned for that too.

Have a great weekend knitting!

Weather Report

We're back to the 60's today, but for a moment yesterday morning, it was a good morning to sit out on the front porch with a cuppa and do a little mindless knitting.

Now of this posting, it is raining and the weather report for most of the week into the holiday weekend, it is also cloudy and rainy.  With exception of Thursday when the weather should be more May like.

Come on Illinois, give us Spring weather!!

Knit Along Little Doggies

I'm a sucker for KnitALongs and  the new mystery KAL by Joji Locatelli was no exception.  The only clue we had is that it ends up being a wrap and I am liking wraps right now for their wearing potential.

I had a few Lolodidit Yarns from last year in my Stash, but I needed a couple more to round out to 5 different color ways.

I wound them up last weekend in prep for casting on.  I was still on the fence in my color choices.  They are so not like my usual colors, but I've been wanting a neutral wrap for sometime, so I am knitting by faith that I will love my choices.

I've cast on, but need to get in gear before the next clue comes out in a couple of days.

Stay tuned.

What's On Your Needles?

It's a color theme week for knitting early this week.  A Hospice shawl from my 3 Irish Girls Yarn from the Stash.  I'm lovin it.  The pattern is Cheryl Oberle's Simple Garter Prairie Shawl from her now out of print Folk Shawl book.

This book is one of my faves so if you have it, keep it safe and if you don't have it and you see it in a shop somewhere, buy it!

Next up is my Scarfy Thing.  I am doing a KAL over on the Espace Tricot Group in Ravelry.  This one has a date to finish by the 22nd, so there is still some knitting on it to be done.  The final product will go in by bin for the 40 Months 40 Cowls thingy I am doing towards retirement.

There are a couple of other projects on the needles, that I am working on, but not as hot and heavy as these two.  They are both so cool and a bit more involved that they need their own posts.  Catch you on the purl side with them.

It's Hospice Thursday

20 lovely blankets and shawls came in today.  The stack on the left are all crocheted by one lovely lady, Shirley.  I just love Shawl and Tell.  So many ideas from

Some amazing ladies.

What a great way to start the day, after a 45 minute line of traffic, that is.  I needed Hospice after that!

Oh What A Beautiful Sunday!

to be sitting out on the porch knitting and enjoying the sunshine!  That's what I am doing.  And knitting on a Scarfy Thing, some mindless knitting -

Then tonight, when it is time to go in and I have some good light shining right down on me, I'll pick my Kailyard Shawl and knit on it.

That's what I am knitting on right now, today.  Have a great Sunday and Happy Knitting!!

Friday Finds

Just a small one, but here are my yarns for a new mystery KAL that starts mid May by Joji Locatelli.

It is a Wrap, which I am kind of lovin right now.  And not at all my colors, all variations of gray, but I thought it might be fun to do something low key.

The yarns are all from Lolodidit, a yarn dyer I like.  From left to right:
Coal Miner's Daughter
Folsom
Carson
Angry Rhino
Naked Hippo

I love the names too!!
