Finally Finished Friday

I have a couple this week!!  The Elephant Blanket was so much fun to knit and I cannot wait for it to make its way to the baby to be!

And Avalanche is done just in time for the last bit of cool weather this weekend!

Both finished objects came out of my stash!  It is a win win!!

Swatching

Trying not to stress the elbow out too much, I decided to take a night off from knitting. And then I decided that was stressing out me too much, and did a bit of swatching.

I am swatching for Carol Sunday's Capture the Moment Sweater out of her Angelic yarn.  I cannot wait for the swatch to dry so I can cast on!  It is going to be a bit of knitting, but the yarn is so light and fluffy.

This is the same sweater that Sally Rainey knit and let me try on last year at Knitting Camp.  I knew from then, I had to have one for myself!

One of the super cool things is that this is a sweater that has made the second round of voting on the Mason Dixon March Mayhem!  If you are playing along, go over and vote!!

I'm Okay With Rainy Sundays

Sunday has been the day for me, forever, that is a Me day.  I try not to have to go anywhere unless family things call me out.  That may all change when retirement comes, but for now, I like to take Sundays to reflect, plan and get ready for the week that awaits.

I especially like rainy Sundays, because that makes it even easier to kick back and do just what I want to.

But, doing what I want to do has been a little harder of late.  I have some sort of elbow pain that is flaring up.  I have had it for several years, but it seems like it has been a little more annoying lately.  I am doing a couple of things to try and make it not hurt so bad.  Some of the tips, I am getting out of a book that I bought two years ago at Stitches Midwest.

I am trying to not knit so much at my comfy chair, but sitting in the middle of the couch where I am not so dependent on the arms while I knit.  I, also, had the arms removed from my chair at work, so I am not resting on them, while computing all day long.  I'm hoping by babying it a bit will ease up the pain.

I also finished a couple of knits that I'll share later this week on Finally Finished Friday.  I have been doing a lot of intense knitting lately so that may have been part of the flare up.

For this week, I think I will keep it to some easy knitting -

And maybe I'll even pull out a book to read!  Catch you on the purl side!

Finally Finished Friday

My Hospice Shawl of yesterday.  It took me a while to knit, not because it was hard, just because I was only knitting on it at Hospice.  The pattern is Water's Edge, one of my fave, easy to knit shawl that can be knit out of anything.  Mine is from Folio, which is such a super soft yarn.

And look at these beauties that  everyone else crocheted and knitted for Hospice.

I love when we do Shawl and Tell, and get to see all the super cool blankets!  It was a good day!

It Comes Around Every Year

It's
Day!

My friend, Char knitted this year's ago, and when she passed, I became the recepient of it.

It hangs on my mannequin and there isn't a day that I don't see it and admire the workmanship of it.  Some day I'll knit one myself.

Until then, have some pie too!

What's On The Needles This Week

Slowly, but surely, I am knitting on Avalanche.  It is my in public knitting project these days.

My at home project is a little baby blanket I am knitting for my daughter-in-law's sister's new baby.

It's been kind of fun watching the elephants all in a row come to life.

And the sun was still shining tonight as I drove home.  Ah, Spring is on the horizon and that makes me feel pretty good!

Finally Finished Friday

Another scarf/cowl for the 40 month project is finished.

Actually, I finished this a couple of weeks ago, but needed a decent day outside to get the Tall Guy to take some pics for me.  We had to settle for a rainy Saturday, but we got the deed done.  Ground Pepper is done, blocked and I have worn it out a couple of times.

The yarn was a kit from Leading Men Fiber Arts.  The color way is teal speckles and is 5 more intense speckles.

The knit is part of My Sweater Project, part of ZK Team Boaty where I twinned with my friend Debbie, who knit hers in green.

I made quite a few mods to mine so that it would fit me just right!  In Episode 22 of my You Tube podcast, I tell you all about my mods to make this just right.

This is a sweater that I am going to wear a lot and may have changed my whole mind about knitting finger weight sweaters!

What's Up For Knitting This Week

Veronika is back on the needles, a size up and a size up on the needles. It's a boring knit right now, but a perfect knit for public knitting.

And finally, I have my Avalanche on the needles.  I was bound and determined to get it to the point of putting the sleeves on markers today so it should go pretty fast given the needle size and the plumpness of the yarn.

I've got one other knit on the needles this week, a baby blanket for a boy to be born next month.  I've got some time on it, is a fun knit and I'll show it later as I get into it.

Until then, enjoy your knitting week!
