Unspun Icelandic is such a different yarn than a lot of people are not used to knitting with. For some, it just doesn't hit the soft and cuddly factor. It really is pencil roving, so you can't just pull and tug on it while you are knitting on it. It requires a bit of patience but the result is a nice warm garment or shawl that can hold up to Icelandic temperatures, hence its name.
