The Last Sunday in February 2023

It was beautiful Sunday here at Chex PJKnits.  I am hoping Spring is coming really soon.  Which would mean, of course, more knitting on the porch.

I finished up the Beatrice Mitts that I started last year.  These are going to come in handy for Spring knitting on the porch.

With the end of February, it is the last square of the month as well, bringing the total to seven for February.

A nice way to end a month with more squares than last year.

Bring on some Spring!

Knitting Adventures

A friend of mine talked me into knitting the Garter Marler Cardigan by Stephen West.  I thought about it for a minute...and of course, said yes.

After watching his video on the cardigan, I got up this morning and started pulling some yarns from my PYS, here are the first go round.

I'm pulling onesies out to get them out of the stash.  Once they are in the cardigan, I will put them into my Scrappy Sunday Blanket.  If they are of the Caribbean Blue variety, I'll add them to my Habitation Throw blanket and then possibly in another scrappy blanket.

On a real Knitting Adventure note, I've got tickets to both the marketplace and Knit Night at Knit City Montreal.  My roomie, Debbie and I will be driving to Montreal in May to attend this once in a life time event.

In the meantime, I am anxiously awaiting an email from Schoolhouse Press, hoping I am in at Knitting Camp.  Fingers crossed.

Have a good weekend!

My View For Today

I'm just glad it's not snow.

So, I'm spending my day with yarn, cuppas, podcasts, and watching it rain.  A Lot.

Earlier this week, I felt like I needed to cast on all the things, but I didn't.

Except for one.  The Autumn League Pullover...which today, I cut bait on!

This is one I should have listened to my swatch on.  My swatch told me twice that it didn't suit the pattern gauge, but I cast on anyway.  Last night, during a Zoom, I realized it really didn't suit the pattern or the needle.

I'm saving my swatch though, since I really liked the fabric I was getting on the smaller needle.  The yarn is going back into my PYS (personal yarn shop) for a future sweater and the pattern back to my Library for maybe a different yarn later this year for a transitional sweater for Fall.

You know, sometimes you just need to listen to your swatch, even if you think they lie!

Scrappy Sunday

I spent most of this Sunday, noodling over a new sweater to cast on for down at my local yarn shop, using yarn I purchased there.

But, on this gorgeous Sunday, I did managed to do two squares on my scrappy blanket.  I just didn't manage to get them photographed outside before the sun went down so quickly.

Days like today, remind me that Spring will soon be here, right?!

Finally Finished Friday

I've got several for this week, sometimes that is just how it happens.

Row By Row Sampler Cowl by Irene Designs on Ravelry.  If you watched yesterday's PJKnits You Tube podcast, you will know how to enter to win this pattern.

I knit mine out my personal yarn shop, Carol Sunday's yarn Eden.  The yarn is soooo soft and this pattern so fun to knit!

Aise by Espace Tricot for Hospice.

This is the third time I have knit this pattern all out of different yarns, and each one is unique.  I love a good wrap!

The yarn is Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Wave, which so remind me of the waves of the ocean as they come into the beach.

The last FO this Friday, is my Yume by Isabell Kraemer.  A tad of lace at the neck and the rest is pure stockinette.

I used Berroco Remix Light, and was pleasantly surprised at how soft it was!

This is gonna be a great Transitional sweater for this Spring as we go forward.

Happy Friday All!!

Good Monday Morning!

 This week -

And take

in our journey...

And now for last week -

Had Hospice Prayer Shawl Group, and my fellow Knit Wit, Sue was wearing her Soundtrack as well, so of course, we had to have a picture together.

I didn't get my wrap blocked, but here are 14 of the lovely shawls and blankets the ladies of the group knitted and crocheted.

I finally finished my first sleeve of my Yume.  Who knew decreases took so much time.  I am so loving the feel of this yarn.  I really thought it might be coarser, but no, it is quite soft.

I've been working hard on my second sleeve of my Yume, and hoping to get it finished by tomorrow. And of course, I am hoping to have it blocked along with another Finished Object by the podcast later this week and Finally Finished Friday.

To round out the week, I did two squares yesterday on my Scrappy Sunday blanket.  Mainly because I really wanted to get back to the second sleeve.

The sun is shining here again at Chez PJKnits, and the plan for this afternoon, is to head out to our local park and walk around the lagoon a few times, maybe sitting a bit on one of the benches to soak up the sunshine and do some knitting.

Have a fabulous week, and I hope the sun is shining on you today as well!

There's This Song

that I cannot get out of my head.  It is a Miley Cyrus song, Flowers~~

The catchy lyrics go --- I Can Buy Myself Flowers

And so I did.

A nice bouquet for just $10 at my Aldi store.

Can't beat that, now can I?

And they make me smile -

And I still can't seem to get those lyrics out of my brain.

Knitting on the Porch

Yes, you read that correctly.  There was knitting on the porch today here at Chez PJKnits, where it got up to 50 degrees.  And a perfect day to put on one of my Throw and Go Sweaters on.

This is a well worn fave of mine out of Briar Rose Fibers Fourth of July, it was my first Super Simple Summer Sweater by Joji.  This sweater and I have been through a lot, keeping me warm, comfy and cozy.  So, naturally, I threw it on for today's knitting on the porch.

It is way too early for the real porch furniture,  so I pulled out the rocking lawn chair and table that I use all Summer long down on the riverfront.

Spent my afternoon out on the porch, soaking up the sun, blue skies, a cuppa and of course, knitting.

It was perfect.

The day all started very early this morning with knitting on my Scrappy blanket and coffee as well.  I just had to take their pictures with the gorgeous sunshine streaming in.

Hope you had a chance to get out today and check out the sunshine!
