Mail Call

A couple of things have recently landed in the mailbox that I just know you all wanted to see.

Friends Kelly and Noelle, from Knits And Pieces enabled me sometime back with a discount code for a Lumos light.  I have a knockoff version that I bought from Amazon many years ago, and it does a good job, but couldn't pass this one off with a decent price.

I am happy with it.  It is lighter weight, and the lights are pretty standard, but they also swivel and this one can stand up on the flat base.  I tried it out on some black knitting with nothing but it and the t.v. for back lighting when it was dark, and it did a fantastic job.

I might have enabled a couple of others in my knitting group and also bought one for a giveaway at the meetup.

I've been wanting to try out Gauge yarn for quite sometime, but could not seem to get the colors I wanted.  Still couldn't this time, but decided to try a different color way.

In the past year she has been dyeing color ways that are the flowers of the month, so this was my second choice.  It should give me some big stripes for a musselburgh for a long trip later this year, stay tuned.

IF, I can wait long!  Happy Tuesday!

Finally Finished Friday - Riptide Slipover

Vests have been on my mind for over a year, but there has been so many things I've been knitting on, that I am a bit late to the party.  But, this won't be my last vest for sure.

This Riptide Slipover by Jennifer Shiels Toland was fun to knit.  A bit of stockinette, a bit of patterning and my fave the armholes were self finishing so, besides the neck and hem rib, it was done when it was done.

I chose Rylie by Hikoo that was in PYS for about 8 years, slated for something else initially, but when I went looking for something to knit the slipover out of, this one jumped out, because I knew I also had a nice shirt to wear under it, along with some other pieces.

Definitely a virtual piece both in wearing and what I can wear it with, blue jeans.

Happy Friday!

It Is Definitely Spring

Hospice blanket delivered to the Hospice Home. The flowers stayed home with me, but they were just too pretty to not photograph with the blanket.

The flowers were a gift from my son's fiancee last weekend.  The blanket one that. I have been knitting on for three years.  Funny, not haha funny, but a memory from three years ago and a point in time, that I had no idea what a turn life had in store.

Thankful to have this one done and off to someone who hopefully it will bring comfort to.

Well, Hello

How is your knitting these days?  I have so many knits swirling around my head!  Isn't that how new seasons mess with our minds?!  Today is nice and sunny out, finally, here at Chez PJKnits, but it is still a bit chilly so no knitting on the porch for a couple of weeks.  But, the upside, the Tulip trees out back still have their flowers and the bushes are starting to turn green.  It won't be long and the real Spring will be here to stay.

Are your knits ready?  Are you knitting for Summer? I am, but also, thinking about Fall, because a couple of friends of mine and I are going on the Arne & Carlos cruise up the coast of Norway in October!  I blog more about that and my knitting down the road, but for now, I am just planning knits to have ready.

What I am doing is knitting on some Summer stuff or at least have some mail call to share with you from the last couple of weeks.

I got my yarn a few weeks back for the Clover Tee that we are doing a KAL for the Makers Meetup this July.  I tried really hard to use PYS, but nothing from there would work, and I really tried.  So I decided to go ahead and buy Line, the yarn the designer designed the tee in.

I have a couple of tees out of this yarn, so I know I like it, so ordered it in a nice summery aqua.  I'll show my progress tomorrow on a new podcast and later this week, right here on the blog.

I, also, bought some yarn for the Sylven by Natasha Hornby that just came out recently.

I wanted to challenge myself with something beside stockinette for summer, and thought really hard about buying the yarn the designer knit it out of, but, saw that Dina from the Knitting Place used a Rowan yarn for her test knit, so I followed suit only in a lovely teal!!!

I am super excited in my latest choices, and anxious to be knitting on them, but do have some other knits that have been waiting patiently for some time.

Its good to be back at blogging, thanks for waiting, have a good start to your week!!
