Some Gorgeous

Days and Nights on the Front Porch.

The mornings have been so cool, that it has required a shawl when having coffee on the front porch and doing a bit of Hospice Knitting.

The sky has been perfectly blue

And the sun has felt so good

Casting some perfect shadows

And then at the end of the day, a "blue" moon starting to rise out of the trees.

This weekend, the temps are going to climb back up to the 90s, so Fall is not here yet, but I am doing some Fall Sweater knitting for sure and yes, planning, lots of planning.

The End of August?!

Scrappy Sunday brought Granddog sitting and of course, I had to have Kane post with the last Sunday Scrappy Square for August.

How can it be almost the end of August?  And today, a memory popped up on Facebook for me.  Today would have been anniversary #47.  It is sad, but today, I am also reflecting on some very good years too.

I also, spent the day doing some reading, some casting on and thinking about basket number one that I showed on the podcast last week.

And I may have started another tote with more Winter sweater yarns, stay tuned.

Taking It For A Knit

I took my Ranunculus Number Three out today for knitting.

Sometimes it takes awhile to find just the right stuff to go with a knit.  I wasn't super happy with the original dress I wore under it for the podcast on Wednesday, but when I went to my closet, I found some ankle pants that work with it.

Despite it being almost a hundred today, my new Allbirds in Turquoise really did keep the toesies cool and went with the ensemble too.

It's funny how a sweater that isn't a fave in my wardrobe, ends up being one I really like wearing.

Have a great weekend!!

Having A Blue Moment

That is a blue color moment!  But, all the blues go with my favorite attire right now and into Fall, Blue Jeans.

Finished objects, WIPS and future knits all seem to be blue right now.  Not sure how that happened, but it did.

The Tolsta Tee in progress, based on an ensemble and inspiration pic from the Talbots catalog earlier this Spring.

Sea Salt, another WIP for them beach next February.

A future cast on, that may be a Spring 2024 sweater, Granito, out of Linen Quill.  The last two sweaters I knit were Linen Quill, so I am taking a bit of a break from it right now.

And lastly, finally, onto the sleeves of my Autumn League for this Fall.

I want to finish it, but, I, also want to cast on all the Fall sweaters.

Have a good weekend!  It's gonna get hot again.  UGH, why not cast on one or ten new projects.  Stop me now.

When Your Tennies

 Match a future sweater.

This was totally not planned.  The sweater to be or the color way for the color work.

I was quite inspired by Susan Rainey at Meg's Knitting Camp in July.  After sitting next to her all weekend, this pattern totally had me interested.  She used Hot Dish by Spincycle.  When my local yarn shop, The Fiber Universe got a very similar color only on a more readily available yarn to me, well, I just had to think seriously about it.

Check Susan's finished sweater out in the links below.

Monday Morning Catch-up

 Well...

My Daughter-in-law and grandkids were here for a quick visit this weekend.  It was a short trip, but totally worth it.  This was Saturday morning, just me and the girls up early on the front porch, enjoying the heat.

This is last Sunday's Scrappy Square

Yesterday's Scrappy Square

And the start of another scrappy blanket, the Jelly Roll Blanket by Kay of the Bakery Bears.  This one is going to be all Summery colors, I think.

Finally, a little knitting on the front porch this morning, before it got kind of muggy.

And there you have it, all caught up.  Hope the sun comes out later today, and I may just try cutting the grass?! (One of my least fave things to do!)

Have a good week!!

Slowly

After a month of travels, I am slowly getting back to normal local knitting.  Thankfully, even though it is a bit hot, there has been a nice breeze on the Peoria Riverfront, for us to sit out and do a bit of knitting this week.

It's a beautiful location in the parking lot where we can sit our chairs and tables and other essential riverfront knitting.

My go to project this week is Colorshift #2 for my oldest granddaughter.  It is one of those perfect knits for public knitting, so as to enjoy the scenery and the conversation.

Have a great weekend!

Another Fabulous Weekend

Mini Meet-up put on by the Frivolous and Frugal Podcast and 3 Ply Podcast at Hoffman Estates, Illinois!  So much fun and what a wonderful group of knitters to get together with, meet and spend time with.

My weekend started out on Thursday, driving up and visiting the two local yarn shops in Elgin, Illinois.

The weekend including knitting, of course.

Eating, of course.

Trying on other people's Burra Cowls.

The Green Sweater Brigade.

And home to unpack.

It was just simply wonderful and I am looking forward to the next time already.
