Monday Mail Call!

I love it when knitting related mail comes!

I'll put this March issue away for now, and bring it out later this Summer to knit for next Fall and Winter Sweater Season.  Cully, Meg's son had a hand in this design, so it will be fun to try it out later this year.  I haven't yet knit one of his designs, so it will be fun to get it a try.

And for this last Monday in March, here is a little thought for all of us.

Lets choose JOY this week and have a great week!!

The Last Scrappy Sunday of 2023

I made myself knit a square today for Scrappy Sunday.

Why?  Because, after knitting and finishing Niagara (all but the weaving in of ends and blocking), I gave myself permission to knit some more on my Garter Marler Cardigan, and realized that I am almost finished with the body.

And I really wanted to continue today on it, but, still needed to knit at least one square on the blanket.  Now, I am off to knit some more fun!

It's Pi Day

For Knitters, it is not the Pizza Pie or the Peach Pie Day, but

And I didn't knit this lovely pi shawl, it was knit by my knitting friend, Char.

She passed away several years ago, and I got to choose from her knits, and I chose the Pi Shawl, knowing the time it took to knit this heirloom and doubting that I would ever actually knit one myself...
I had several starts, but alas, I have cut bait on all but one.

The original is featured dead center of EZ's Knitting Almanac and this is truly a treasure to hold and look at.

Here's to enjoying your Pi Day.  3.14

Monday Check-In

Happy Monday from Chez PJKnits in Central Illinois...today's weather - Cloudy, Windy, Chilly and it was spittin a bit of something earlier, but I am not complaining, I have my cuppa and my knitting.  So much knitting I want to do.

Are you feeling that Spring like castonitis?  I am, but trying very hard to concentrate on a couple of knits, which I'll show in a couple of days to update you dear blog.

For now, I am bringing out a knit that I knit forever ago to wear around the house and out when I need a quick throw and go sweater.  It is Three Sisters in Cheryl Oberle's Folk Jackets book.  I knit it out of Cascade 220, and although it is getting a tad big on me, it still gets me where I am going.

On the knitting avenue, last Thursday and Friday, I made myself knit on my Niagara sweater, while watching IHSA Boys Basketball on t.v.  There is no way it is going to be done by St. Pat's Day on Friday, but that is o.k. for now.

I did do a couple of squares yesterday in my Scrappy Blanket.  I have to confess, I could have done more than two yesterday, but I am so enamored with my Garter Marler Cardigan by Stephen West, that I could barely get through two yesterday.

Hope you are having a great start to a new week, and despite whatever weather there is, you are choosing JOY!

And almost 70 degrees with sunshine this afternoon...

You Wouldn't Know It

But, earlier this week, a bit of Spring came to Chez PJKnits!

I saw two robins late in the day on Wednesday.

I had a cuppa on the front porch, sitting in the sun and enjoying almost 60 degree weather.

I brought my knitting on the river table and rocker, and knit a bit on a Hospice Shawl.  I think that may be my knitting on the porch project this Spring, it is an easy knit and sunny too!

I cast on Sea Salt, and dug out my Summer knitting project bag.

I didn't get much more done on it, as another project that I will post more about this weekend.

Best of all this week???  We got the email that Knitting Camp is taking place in July and Linda and I both secured our spot...

It has been two years since we have been together and at camp too!
So looking forward to Wisconsin in July!

This morning, Winter is back with winds, rain and possible snow later today.  Followed by some chilly weather predicted for next week. And, as just a year ago, I've caught a bit of a cold....yes, a cold, not you know what, as I did test just to make sure.

So, I will sit back today, with multiple warm cuppas, do some knitting and watch whatever comes.

Hope you all have a great weekend and get good news as well!
