Another Friendship Road Sweater??/

I'm afraid so.  But, I like this one even better than the one before.  And I am going to watch the knitting and the drying of the new one much closer.

You see, last Fall I decided to hand wash my Friendship Road Sweater.  I am not so patient of a person so when it did not dry overnight, I decided to throw it in the dryer (because the label on Ultra Pima says I can).

All of it's imperfections came to light, and I cannot in good conscience wear this out in public.

Not only are the "hairs" of the yarn fluffing up, but where I joined a new yarn (because I was running low on my dye lot), they started to make their way to the surface.

And then the yarn started to do this funky stuff!

So, I have casted on a new ne in a bit darker color and will see if I like Ultra Pima when I am done with.

Stay tuned!

What's On The Needles This Week?

First on the list this week is a Hospice Blanket.  I'm using leftovers from my Hiro Sweater.  I am hoping to have this done today.

Pavement Sweater.  I planned on knitting this during the Olympics, but it's finger weight, I got a late start on it and right now, it is all stockinette in the round.  It may be a plane project later this week, which would be perfect no nonsense knitting.

But, something has been on my brain for a while to knit again.  Despite my goal to use only stash yarn, this Ultra Pima just begged to come home with me last Saturday.  And before I knew it, I was casting on before the day was over.  More to follow on this one tomorrow.

It may have to make it's way aboard the plane instead.  Decisions Decisions.

Scrappy Sunday

Weekends are usually laundry days for me.  Channeling my mom, when I wait for the washing machine to load, I crochet a bit on my scrappy blanket that I keep on the counter.

It's slow going and miles wide, it may take a while to have a whole blanket, but there will always be laundry to do.

Finally Finished Friday

It is not much of a finished Friday, but it counts.

Getting Warmer by Espace Tricot.  I am liking this little shoulder warmer.

And it can make a nice cowl if one is so inclined.  This one is going into the 40 Months/40 Cowl bins.

Happy Friday Knitters!

Retreating

I'm off this weekend to a nearby retreat, Knitting Pipeline.  It is about a half an hour away so I get to come home and sleep in my own bed at night.

In the spirit of the Olympics, I am trying to knit a sweater, Pavement.  I got a late start due to a trip to see Mona Lisa and Poppy last weekend.  But, this morning I took some time to get it to the sleeve break.  From here on out it is knitting in the round for 16".

And just in case I get bored, I'll stow my Nice Capades sweater in.  It is a couple of inches from the Snowflakes and I am getting excited to get it to that point.

That's what is happening here at Chez PJKnits this weekend.  Have a great weekend!

Friday Finds

Love my new toy!

I am an avid watcher of Knitting You Tube channels and up until late December had been accessing them on my t.v. through my Amazon Firestick.  But, it seems that Google was having an issue with Amazon because they wouldn't let them sell their Google Chromcast thingy through their website.  So, Google said, you people who are using your Amazon Firestick can no longer use it to watch You Tube starting the first of January.

One day, late in December, way before the first of January, You Tube could no longer be viewed.  I went out and bought a Chromecast for both me and the Tall Guy.  I hated it from the start.  No longer could I use my remote for it, but now, had to use either my phone or iPad.  I did, but really really hated it and was just not happy with the way the whole Chromecast thingy performed.  The Tall Guy listened to me growl for about six weeks.

UNTIL - he happened to do some investigation on line and found Roku!  And you know what??  It behaves just like my firestick and I can access all the things I was doing with my firestick.

Love it!  And Chromecast, you, I dislike!!!

Olympic Knitting

Yep, I am going to cast on a sweater on Friday during the Opening Ceremonies and see if I can knit it during the Olympics.

I've been wanting to knit Pavement for about a year now.

I've got this Sea Pearl from Briar Rose Fiberarts.  It has a nice sheen to it and I just think it will be perfect for work and for Spring/Summer.

Do you have a plan for knitting during the Olympics?

What's On Your Needles This Week?

I want to cast on all the things this Sunday, but am trying very hard to concentrate on a couple of things that are currently on the needles.

One of the things I love about this project, is it is one I can pick up and work a bit on it and put it down quick.  Right now, it is the perfect waiting for the train to go by knitting.  The pattern is from Espace Tricot, Getting Warmer and the yarn is Woolfolk yarn.

This is my second Getting Warmer for the 40 Months 40 Cowls project.

Today, despite the weather report, it is snowing in Central Illinois.  I flipped the first of the sleeves from Nice Capades Sweater  out on the porch today to get a quick pic of it with the snow flakes coming down.

After the pic, I got to enough stitches to get it off of the double points and onto the circs so I am hoping to take this along to work tomorrow to knit on during lunch.

Later this week, I can feel a cast on coming for the Olympics.  What about you?  Are you going to cast on a sweater and try to knit it during the Olympics?  Join me, won't you?
