If you are so inclined, how about knitting helmet liners? It just takes a skein of yarn in black, brown or drab green and a little time. A friend of mine is the local collector for liners so I said what the heck, I can knit one.
The pattern is a free one, just search on the internet under helmet liners. There are collectors all over the US, there may be one near you.
